BNSG SIGNS N149.3 MILLION CONTRACT TO PROCURE NEW TRANSMITTER FOR RADIO BENUE

The Benue State government has signed a contract worth N149.3 million with Knicks Engineering Limited for the procurement of a 20 Kilowatt FM Transmitter for Radio Benue, Makurdi.
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Beatrice Nguemo Tsavmbu while signing the contract agreement on behalf of the ministry said installation of a new transmitter for the station will make it reach wider audience.
Director General of Radio Benue, Dr Charles Iornumbe said it had been the desire of Governor Samuel Ortom to procure and install a new transmitter for Radio Benue which he stated will reposition the station for better performance.
The DG acknowledged the zeal with which the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has for the procurement of a new transmitter for Radio Benue, expressing the hope that when installed, Benue people will get the best from the station.
He said the management of Radio Benue under him had already extended transmission hours to 12midnight, pointing out that the station will justify the confidence reposed in it under his leadership.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Tivlumun Nyitse, in whose office the agreement was signed and also witnessed by the Head of Service, Mrs Veronica Onyeke, commended the Governor for the approval to procure a transmitter for Radio Benue, stressing that as a media practitioner, he is aware of the benefits.
Director Knicks Engineering Limited based in Gudu Abuja, Engineer Chiedozie Idoko said the 20 Kilowatt Transmitter comes with UPS and has a digital studio, and is capable of reaching the entire Benue and its environs.
He stated that when mobilized, the contract will be delivered within three months.
