DEDICATES IT TO GOD AND GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA.
History was made on Friday as the Special Adviser to the Governor and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu became the first General Manager of the Agency to bag an award of Excellence from State Executive Council (SEC) of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) which is the umbrella unoin body of all the OCDA workers during the 6th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference (SDC) of the Union at Imo State Labour House Owerri.
Receiving the award, the Special Adviser and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu expressed delight over the honour done to him by the Labour Union and sincerely thanked the State Executives of AUPCTRE for not only finding him worthy of the award but for also conferring the award on him adding that the award was a promise made and promise fulfilled.
He described the award as a very symbolic one given the fact that it came from a Labour Union which he observed that are sometimes at Crossroads with Administrators of Establishments, noting that the award will spur him and his Team to work harder in order to do much better in the Assignment of overseeing Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA).
Engr. Francis Chukwu dedicated the award to Almighty God and the Executive Governor of Imo State His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for giving him the opportunity to serve Imolites in the Capacity of Special Adviser and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) while also encouraging the Labour Union Leaders to support the Shared Prosperity Government of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma which he added has prioritised the welfare of workers and brought about people oriented projects ranging from massive road infrastructure, recovery and return of illegally acquired properties to the rightful owners among other achievements of the Governor.
The OCDA helmsman who advised the Labour Leaders on the need to periodically educate their union members on organizational ethics and need to accord due respect to constituted Authorities, implored them to always ensure industrial peace and harmony at all times. In the words of Engr. Chukwu “where there are issues, it is always far much better and rewarding to explore peaceful avenues in order to restore harmony for there to be smoothness and seamlessness in the working environment at all times which will obviously result to productivity.” He submitted.
Earlier while presenting the award to the OCDA General Manager as “AMBASSADOR OF AUPCTRE”, the National Vice Chairman of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUCPTRE) Comrade Chibuzo Sure said that the motive behind the award was in recognition of the immense support of the OCDA General Manager towards the growth and development of Labour in Imo State and society at large.
The Governor’s Aide was accompanied to the Award Ceremony by some Management Staff of the Agency including the Acting Director of Administration and Finance (DAF) Mr. Chiedozie Mere, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) Barr. Mrs. Adaugo Okwara, The HOD Architecture Arc. Benedict Okey, the HOD Health Mrs. Ugoh Nnorom and the Head of Store Unit who doubles as the OCDA AUCPTRE branch Chairperson Miss Ngoka Lois.
