The Imo State Hon. Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition, Sir Noble A. Atulegwu has urged Imo citizens and radio/television presenters in Imo State to start using their mouths to bless the State.
Receiving members of the Association of Radio/Television Presenters in Imo State who visited him on Monday, March 1, 2021 led by their Chairman, Rev. Clifford Uba, the new Ministry and brainchild of Governor Hope Uzodimma expressed through the Hon. Commissioner the seriousness of Governor Hope Uzodimma in empowering Imo youths through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship.
While highlighting the efforts and programmes of Governor Hope Uzodimma as they concern the new Ministry, ranging from collation of data of unemployed people in Imo State, entrepreneurship workshops, skill acquisition programmes, women empowerments, Federal/State Governments ITF programmes, uniting/reforming of Artisans organization in the State after 21 years, increased sensitization of Imo youths on skill acquisition & entrepreneurship, the Hon. Commissioner told them to start blessing Imo State.
His words, “let us remember that whoever curses Isreal is cursed and whoever blesses Isreal is blessed, therefore all of you should start using your radio/television offices to bless our dear Imo State.”
“Governor Hope Uzodimma created this Ministry to provide skill acquisition and entrepreneurship opportunities for Imolites. This is the first time in our State that a Governor is giving applaudable attention to the yearnings of Imo citizens especially from our teeming unemployed youths in regard to skill acquisition and entrepreneurship. From day one our Governor took over the baton of leadership of Imo State, provision of relevant opportunities to turn our unemployed people into productive and self-reliant citizens through this new Ministry has been at the forefront of his administration. The Chairman of the Association, Rev. Clifford Uba in his speech thanked Hon. Atulegwu for giving them a warm welcome. He said the enthusiasm with which Hon. Atulegwu goes about in carrying out the programmes of Governor Hope Uzodimma concerning youths skill acquisition and entrepreneurship in Imo State is contagious. Speaking further, Mr. Chairman said the Association desires to see other commissioners and government appointees have their doors open for journalists to carryout their duties as such aids investigative journalism and balanced reportage.
Further, a member of the Association and popular ‘On Air Presenter’ (OAP), Mr. Jerry Osuji said though the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition was created newly, the Hon. Commissioner has brought it to the forefront and limelight making Imo people to feel governance in another positive dimension under Governor Hope Uzodimma.
In closing, Hon. Atulegwu thanked them for visiting and even furnished the Association with pictorial documents of the programmes carried out by the Ministry. The likes of Mr. Chinonso Uba (Nonso Nkwa), Amb. Saviola Godwin and other radio/television presenters present on the visit nodded with conviction and all prayed for the Governor to sustain the efforts.
